Craig S. Gerard attended Western Michigan University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in Criminal Justice. Craig attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School on an Honors Scholarship. While in law school, he earned the Certificate of Merit in his Business Organizations and Entertainment Law Courses. He received his Juris Doctorate Cum Laude, with a concentration on Business Transactions in January of 2004. Immediately after law school, Craig practiced as an associate attorney in a mid-sized private practice firm in Okemos specializing in estate planning.

Since joining the Gallagher Law Firm in March 2007, Craig has specialized in estate planning, probate administration and litigation, and trust administration. Craig has developed an effective educational seminar program on the topic of estate planning and frequently speaks to business and community groups throughout the state of Michigan. Craig earned a certificate of completion in the Probate and Estate Planning Program from the Institute of Continuing Legal Education.

Craig is a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Probate and Estate Planning Section along with the American Bar Association, Ingham County Bar Association, and the Ingham County Young Lawyers. Craig was recently elected President of the Greater Lansing Estate Planning Council (GLEPC) for the 2010-2011 term. He is also a member of the Michigan State Auctioneers Association, Michigan United Conservation Club, Safari Club International – Lansing Chapter, United States Golf Association, Golf Association of Michigan, and serves as legal counsel for the Ingham County Chapter of Pheasants Forever.
