Shane Hilyard
Shane Hilyard’s primary areas of practice are estate planning, probate and trust administration, estate litigation, family law and domestic relations, including juvenile law, abuse and neglect, and personal protection order hearings. Mr. Hilyard’s primary focus is to provide professional service and personal attention to all of the clients he represents.
Mr. Hilyard joined The Gallagher Law Firm after serving as the judicial law clerk for Ingham County Probate Court Chief Judge Hon. Richard J. Garcia and Hon. R. George Economy. Mr. Hilyard received his juris doctor, cum laude, from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2013 as a member of the William Johnson Class. While in law school Mr. Hilyard received several awards for academic achievement and leadership, including multiple Certificate of Merit, the Cooley Alumni Association Outstanding Student Award, the Leadership Achievement Award, and the Krinock Memorial Award. Mr. Hilyard held the position of Senator in the Student Bar Association, Student Appeals Magistrate, and was a member of the Order of Graduation Marshalls, and a member of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity Percy J. Power Senate.
Mr. Hilyard, a native of Western New York, is an avid sports fan of the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, and New York Mets. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Hilyard enjoyed success in the rodeo arena as a bull rider. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and their four children.
