What's it like Working for America's Most Prestigious Law Firm?

Careers website, Vault, recently released their annual list of America's most prestigious law firms. New York City-based law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz held steady at the number one spot. The prestigious firm's "inside workings" remain mysterious, but Vault was able to report inside information on life while working for Wachtell.

"Wachtell is known for taking on risky, “messy” work, according to Vault. The firm specializes in very complicated deal-making — including Bank of America’s purchase of Merrill Lynch for $50 billion.

The firm also has a lower associate-to-partner ratio than most other firms, meaning new lawyers get to take on important work right away. They also don’t get to sleep a lot.
